The Catholic Church is filled with saints who have lived short but faithful lives. They recognized this as a blessing because through their death they were brought into eternal life in Heaven. Here is a list (in no specific order) of my favorite 25 saints under 25:
Saint Lucy - Age 21
St. Lucy was a virgin and martyr in the early Church. She refused to marry a governor in order to keep her virginity and her consequence was being martyred. They attempted to burn her at the stake but she remained perfectly fine. After many attempts of persecuting her, they finally just decided to behead her. She is also known for having her eyes gouged out but it is not certain that this is true.
Saint Dymphna - Age 14
St. Dymphna is known for having a crazy father. After St. Dymphna’s mother died the father mistook Dymphna as his spouse. She would run away from him but he would not stop chasing her. Her father eventually beheaded her.
Saint Elizabeth of Hungary - Age 24
Saint Elizabeth was a princess in Hungary. Despite her royal status, she served the poor greatly. She even made a hospital and served the poor and sick herself. She is the patron saint of hospitals, beggars, charitable workers, and more.
Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati - Age 24
Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati was known for helping the poor. He contracted polio and died in 1925. At his funeral, the streets were flooded with the homeless he helped. He will be canonized a saint in 2025.
Saint Joan of Arc
St. Joan of Arc is known for helping the French beat the English in the One Hundred Years War. She was burned at the stake for heresy by an English Bishop. The Catholic Church later stated that she did not promote any heresy.
Saint Therese of Lisieux - Age 24
St. Therese is a Doctor of the Church and is most known for her autobiography The Story of a Soul. She was a Carmelite nun starting at the age 15 and died from tuberculosis at 24.
Blessed Carlo Acutis - Age 15
Blessed Carlo Acutis is going to be canonized soon. Pope Francis will announce the canonization date on July 1st. He made a website that taught about every Eucharistic Miracle approved by the Church. His body is also incorrupt.
Saint Maria Goretti - Age 11
St. Maria Goretti was a very pure little girl. One day a young man, Alessandro, tried to seduce her but she resisted. As a result he stabbed her 14 times. She forgave him before her death and Alessandro later converted.
Holy Innocents - Newborn
The Holy Innocents were the newborn babies that were murdered out of Herod’s wrath. Herod found out that Jesus was born and he did not want someone to overthrow him. As a result he decided to murder all newborn babies he thought could potentially be the next ruler. The holy Innocents are recognized as the first martyrs of the Church.
Saint Agnes - Age 12
St. Agnes was a fourth century martyr and she wished to remain pure. She refused to marry anyone because her spouse was Jesus Christ. She refused to renounce her faith so she was murdered by the Romans.
Saint Jose Sanchez Del Rio - Age 14
St. Jose Sanchez Del Rio was martyred during the Cristero war in Mexico. He refused to obey the governments commands of leaving behind Catholicism. He was brutally punished and killed because he kept his faith.
Saint Kateri Tekakwitha - Age 24
St. Kateri Tekakwitha was a Native American Catholic who converted at the age of 19. Her tribe ostracized her because of her religious believes but she persevered through it. She died from poor health at the age of 24.
Saint Dominic Savio - Age 14
St. Dominic Savio was a young boy who was on fire for the Lord. Saint John Bosco was his friend and wrote a biography about him. Through this, the Church recognized his holiness and canonized him.
Saint Perpetua - Age 22
St. Perpetua was very firm in her faith. Her father tried to make her renounce Catholicism and she refused. They threw her into an arena with wild beasts. The beasts did not kill her so they murdered her by sword.
Saint Aloysius Gonzaga - Age 23
St. Aloysius was born into an aristocratic family and he joined the Jesuits. His father wanted him to leave but Aloysius refused. He died in 1591 from a plague.
Saint Philomena - Age 13
Philomena was a Greek princess and she was martyred for her faith. She was unheard of before 1802 when her body was found in the catacombs and a nun had visions of her.
Saint Jacinta - Age 9
St. Jacinta was a 9 year old girl whom Mary appeared to once a month in Fatima. Along with Francisco and Jacinta, she helped spread the rosary to the whole world.
Saint Francisco - Age 10
St. Francisco was the little boy that Mary appeared to in Fatima. Along Jacinta and Lucia, he promoted the rosary to the whole world.
Saint Germaine Cousin - Age 22
St. Germaine Cousin was born with tuberculosis and a deformed hand. She lived her life as a shepherd and sleeping in a stable. She was treated very cruelly by her stepmother. She died at the age of 22 in 1601.
Saint Catherine of Alexander - Age 18
St. Catherine was born a noble and she was known by others for her Catholic faith and intelligence. The emperor brought his smartest men to debate her so that she would leave the Catholic Church. She ended up converting the men to Catholicism. After hearing this, the emperor beheaded St. Catherine.
Saint Teresa of the Andes - Age 19
St. Teresa of the Andes had a strong calling to be like St. Therese of Lisieux. She became a Carmelite nun just like St. Therese. She knew that she would have died from Typhus and this suffering enhanced her love for God. She eventually died from Typhus at the age of 19.
Saint Gabriel of Our Lady of Sorrows - Age 23
St. Gabriel had an extremely strong devotion to Our Lady of Sorrows. He suffered from tuberculosis and passed away at the age of 23. He remained joyful throughout all the sufferings he experienced.
Saint Stanislaus Kostka - Age 17
St. Stanislaus received constant physical abuse from his older brother. He wanted to join the Jesuits and joined at the age of 17. Shortly after he died from an illness.
Saint John Berchmans - Age 22
St. John Berchmans joined the Jesuits even though all his family and friends advised him not too. Through all of this he maintained a very strong faith live and love for Jesus. He had a round love for the Mass. He died from a Roman fever.
Blessed Chiara Badano - Age 18
Blessed Chiara received a form of bone cancer at a young age. She refused to take morphine to dull the pain. She offered up the sufferings to Jesus. She died in 1990 from this bone cancer.
